Also known as The Great Sandy National Park, the entire Fraser Island region is world heritage and national park declared. Join one of our Fraser Island tours or Fraser Island backpacker tours to discover this unique paradise.
Even if you don't have a lot of time, our Fraser Island day tours will ensure you see as many of the major, and even the lesser known, highlights. Our comfortable, purpose built 4WD vehicles open up as much of this beautiful island as possible.
The layered multi-coloured sand cliffs are a startling attraction on an island packed with wow moments and experiences. On our two, three and five day Fraser Island guided tours you still get plenty of time to adventure out on your own. Float down fast-flowing Eli creek to emerge on the beach, hike a section of the 90klm, 8-day, Fraser Island Great Walk, plunge into the Champagne Pools as the incoming ocean waves create a bubbling natural spa, or swim in the crystal clear waters of Lake Birrabeen.
For your Fraser Island accommodated, tours stay in the lush, peaceful Frasers at Cathedral Beach in our own permanent, beautifully appointed, tent village.
Cathedral Beach offers absolute central location to almost everything. Located about half way along Seventy Five Mile Beach, to the south lie the geological marvel of the Coloured Sands, Knifeblade Sandblow, the wreck of the Maheno and crystal clear Eli Creek, to the north spectacular Indian Head, Waddy Point and the surging Champagne Pools are within easy distance.
The island's sand dune roots are most clearly seen through the two giant sandblows – compilations of sand dunes mounding up upon each other. On our Fraser Island 4wd tours we visit Stonetool Sandblow and Hammerstone Sandblow, vast expanses undulating into the surrounding bushland, with Hammerstone slowly encroaching on Lake Wabby.
Fraser Island adventure tours explore the history and beauty of Central Station, Pile Valley and Lake McKenzie, located with an area of rainforest. This region was once central to the logging industry but since designation as a world heritage island, the rainforests have again flourished.
In whale watching season we offer a great-value whale watching and Fraser Island safari package, combining two world-class eco tours in one. Luxuriously appointed cruise boats head out daily and whale sighting are assured in most weather through the use of spotter planes and helicopters.
To join our Fraser Island tours, Hervey Bay – the departure and arrival point for our tours – from Brisbane is only a scenic three and a half hours by road and easily reached by air and rail. Whether it's a 1-day or 5-day tour, Fraser Island, with over 40 fresh-water dune lakes, 354 species of birds, one of the only pure-bred dingo colonies, pre-historic ferns and an eco-system packed with unique flora and fauna, should not be missed.
